If you’re new to therapy, it’s natural to wonder what really happens in the room

Therapy often starts as a conversation, but over time it becomes something deeper. The relationship between you and your therapist is central. It’s within this relationship that understanding, change, and growth can take place.

Together, we begin to notice patterns in how you relate to yourself and others — ways of thinking, feeling, or coping that may once have helped, but no longer do.

Therapy offers a safe and supportive space to explore these patterns at your own pace, and to begin developing new ways of relating — to yourself and to the people in your life.

My Therapeutic Approach

I stay attentive to how the sessions feel for you

I work in a psychodynamic and relational way.

Both approaches focus on the idea that our emotional wellbeing is shaped by relationships — past and present — and that distress often develops when important needs have not been met.

The relationship we build in therapy is an important part of the work. It can be:

  • a safe place to experience something different
  • and a way of understanding patterns that show up elsewhere in your life

I pay close attention to emotional patterns, beliefs, and inner conflicts, including how these appear in relationships — and in the therapy itself.

At the same time, I stay attentive to how the sessions feel for you. The pace, focus, and direction can be adjusted so the work feels right for you.

What Happens During Sessions?

Sessions are confidential and focused entirely on you.

There’s no set agenda. We usually begin with whatever feels most important or present for you that day.

Over time, recurring patterns may come into focus — often at the root of ongoing difficulties. These can be explored thoughtfully and safely within the therapeutic relationship.

Is Therapy For Right For You?

You don’t need to have everything worked out before you begin

You might be considering therapy because something doesn’t feel quite right, even if you can’t yet explain why.

People come to therapy for many reasons. You might be struggling with relationships, work, anxiety, low mood, loss, identity questions, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. It’s normal to feel unsure.

You don’t need to have everything worked out before you begin— only a willingness to begin the conversation.
